Installation of our Speedmaster XL106 printing press has been completed

Installation of our Heidelberg Speedmaster XL106 5 colour printing press, which arrived in September, has now been completed. With the set up and training well underway we are aiming to have it up and running by the end of the month.

The introduction of the new press will help streamline our production process. Switching from our two older lithographic presses will help reduce waste and our environmental impact. With improved make ready times, increased efficiency and a reduction in the number of sheets needed before the print run starts, it will lessen our ecological footprint. It will also allow us to make better use of our 1,400 sqm factory floor space in Drayton, Norwich.

The high-performance control station will allow uninterrupted preparation and minimises the time spent on the setup of print jobs. The latest software can maintain quality control from start to finish and enable us to produce the high print standards expected by our customers.

Our new workflow will include a coating unit and a DryStar system to speed up drying times, improve throughput times and allow for a wide variety of substrates to be used.

Excellence and reliability are hallmarks of Heidelberg and we are looking forward to the exciting opportunities this new system brings. Coupled with further changes planned for later in the year, this investment will keep us ahead of the competition and continue our high level of production and finishing.
