A new digital press arrives at Swallowtail Print

As a growing business, Swallowtail Print are happy to see the arrival of our new digital press. Having seen a steady increase in the volumes of print requiring a digital press, we were fast outgrowing our previous press and it was time for an upgrade.

Increased efficiency

Our new digital press is a Konica Minolta AccurioPress C12000, one of their latest flagship systems. For us, the most noticeable improvement following the upgrade is that the new press is approximately 50% faster on output. For example, the system can print up to 120 A4 pages per minute. With many digital print jobs requiring a speedy turnaround to meet customers’ deadlines, this has been a welcome improvement, also enabling us to take on more jobs.

More capability

Another benefit of the C12000 is that it will print a double-sided sheet on thick paper stocks, for example, 400gsm at a size of 330 x 900mm, and even a 450gsm sheet at 300 x 480mm. Printing larger formats also means producing products like an 8pp, A4 finished sized roll fold document. This new system supports an extensive variety of media too, which further opens up the range of products we are able print.

Exceptional print quality

Technology in digital printing is improving all the time. The image quality produced by the new press has been improved, and with a new toner the images are also left with even less of a sheen, meaning light doesn’t reflect off the surface and distract the eye from the visual quality of the image.
